During the last couples of days, the ISN introduction days were carried out. iStudyatHES.com (Nico) participated as coach of one of the groups. It was a great success, everybody was eager to make friends and to get to know Amsterdam better.
For those who didn’t go, this is what you missed:
Registration and lunch all together. Then, to the open ceremony at the Single Kerk where several speakers gave info to the students. Specially 2 of them were really important: a red-hair-woman-with-orange-leather-pants that talked about the use of drugs and an italian guy that told his experience in Amsterdam. Then there were some Dutch games such as stoelendans, sjoelen, koekhappen, etc.
After the dinner break, the first Dutch borrel was carried out at De Heffer pub.
.
Friday 22nd:
The day started with a canal cruise at the Dam rak. Other ppl had the option to do a workshop called “pimp my bike” where they got a bike (of course they paid for it) and pimp it as they wanted. After a Dutch snack (patats met mayo) came the “Scavenger Hunt” throughout Amsterdam. That was like walking throughtout Amsterdam visiting the most important places and doing some assigments like swaping stuff with ppl and take and print pictures of weird things.
Later that night, there was a karaoke. You could see girls dancing on tables and some guys singing like rappers (specially a brazilian dude that really liked the mic).
.
Saturday 23rd:
The last day started with sports at the USC nearby Amsterdam RAI. You could do Yoga, basketball, wrestling and Jujitsu BUT no football! After some pressure of like 50 guys, one football pitch was specially opened.
Later that night was the final party at Dansen bij Jansen. Everybody showed up, even those that didn’t come to the other activities. The pub was completely full. Everybody was dancing and drinking. After a few hours there were a lot of couples kissing and who knows if someone scored… at 5 music faded out, lights switched off and everybody left.
