We are looking for new students to join our board. We want to keep our organization young and fresh so we need your creativity and enthusiasm to make this big.

Why would you become board member? What we offer:

Get to know lots of students from all over the world
Our main target group are students studying business studies from wherever they come from. So far we have 23 nationalities in our members database.
Organization of events
Get to organize activities such as parties, weekly drinks, weekend aways, Nintendo Wii tournaments, Champions League events, Heineken experience, Euro trips, etc.
Improve your managerial skills
As board member you will be in charge of certain activities where you are the “manager” and you get to take care of the planning and delegation of tasks.
Real life business experience
As manager of one the activities, you have to use your business knowledge to find the way to apply your marketing and finance skills in order to make asuccessful activity. We make deals with companies, clubs, pubs, advertisers. You get the chance to negotiate prices and get contracts. This is real people, real money and real outcome.
Network with students and teachers
You get the chance to be in contact with lots of business students that eventually will become professionals and it’s up to you to keep in touch with them. Teachers also are important contacts since there are activities where their support is needed.
We are totally flexible, we are students too.
Your academic performance is our priority too. We don’t want you to fail your exams because you were at a great party with us. We schedule our activities, meetings, etc. according to the official school schedule so that you and all our members can have time for both, study and party!
You get a salary
You get the standard salary rate of board members according to the Hogeschool van Amsterdam.


Requirements

  • You should be business student (of course). All business students can apply, preferably from the HvA/HES.
  • You should be extremely social and easy going. Talking to other students is really important. Word of mouth is one of  our strongest marketing tool and you should be able to make it work!
  • Active in social networks. You probably will have to add lots of new friends in Facebook, Hyves and Twitter.
  • International minded. You should love the fact of being in a huge multi-cultural organization.
  • Committed to your tasks. If you say you will take care of something, we trust you will do it.
  • Be present at all main activities. You represent Babylonix and people should recognize you as part of the organization so you have to be present and participate in all main activities (not all of the regular activities)
  • Be present at all weekly organizational meetings. You need to know what’s going on, what’s next and what’s the strategy. We want you to suggest ideas and help others with their tasks.
  • Business mind person, able to see or create opportunities. You should be attent to business opportunities.
  • Excellent communications skills in English + fluent in any other language. This is all about communication by means of speaking to students in a really informal way but also to be formal enough to negotiate a deal with the ABN Amro.
  • Writting skills. We need you to be able to write posts about news, activity reviews, researchs, etc.
  • Any IT skills always adds up> MS Office, Photoshop, web designing. We are pretty active online and we need to update our content continuously. You should be able to be savvy enough to understand the stardard functioning of our website as well as to come up with draft for posters, flyers and ppt presentations.
